We were one of three Missions happening simultaneously in Barnet this Sunday morning. What a result, nice one Barnet GoodGym!!

The task was to weed the decking for our host, as her mobility and eyesight prevents her from being able to do so any more. Gladly the weeds hadn't had a chance to take hold too badly, so we could take turns sorting that whilst the other chatted to our host. It was a lovely garden shaded by fir trees and there were plenty of tools so it was nothing like work.

In spite of her health challenges our host was a proper trooper - having fallen the night before due to a heart condition, she'd been up half the night lying injured on the bathroom floor waiting on the emergency services. In spite of being black and blue from that, she was ready for our visit and greeted us with warmth and grace.

After sweeping together the weeds and fir cones in the back garden for the bin, we pulled out the few weeds that had emerged in the front driveway and our gardening work was done.

As we left we learned our host had a broken loo seat and she'd had trouble organising a replacement. A search online revealed an intimidating amount of potential options, so we resolved to contact the manufacturer on Monday with the details, so GG can let her know what model she needs to get ordered.
