Cat's Entertainment

A nice mission in North Bristol for Deb and Dave today and we met up with Mrs M at her house to be shown round her garden which appears to be a local haven for lots of wildlife, including foxes and badgers.

No sooner had we arrived than the appearance of a number of cats who appear to either reside with Mrs M or certainly like to pop in to say "hello" on a regular basis. We had the pleasure of being entertained by Marvellous Marvin, a gorgeous ginger tortoiseshell, throughout our stay , who was friendly but somewhat skittish and loved to play with the cuttings we had piled up. Honourable Henry gave us a more cool reception, but joined in for the photo shoot, whilst Three-Legged Barry, came and went, more concerned with dodging Marvin's antics, than helping us with our task.

With lots to be done in the garden, we agreed with Mrs M that we would tidy up the front garden area closest to her gate, to keep that looking presentable and allowing her easy access along the garden path.

Having discovered a treasure trove of tools in her shed, we set about making good use of these, cutting back the borders, digging up weeds and cutting down the dead plants so that the garden will hopefully once again be resplendent in bloom in the coming months.

Mrs M used to be a keen gardener before her health deteriorated and also showed us some examples of her woodworking skills when she'd had the capability to do this.

Working for getting on for 2 hours, interspersed with some nice chat with Mrs M, we managed to get the garden looking just a little bit nicer and put a smile on Mrs M's and Marvin's faces.
