Can We Do It?!! 'Dress' We Can!!!

Double celebrations this evening!!! Firstly because it was the lovely Karen’s birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAREN!) and secondly, we were back at the fantastic Lighthouse Centre!!

Karen, you are saint for coming along to a Goodgym task on your birthday!! Instead of going out and celebrating in style, you chose to come and sort clothes with us!!! That is true Goodgym dedication!!! You are a legend!!!

We were back at the Lighthouse Centre this evening for the first time in quite a while. It was great to be back!!! We were greeted by the ever smiling and chilled Dalton who was really pleased to see us and gave us our task for the evening.

The Lighthouse supports many of the homeless as well as the wider community who are in need. They receive donations that need sorting, and tonight, we had the task of sorting some bags of clothes – sorting the stuff that could be passed on from the stuff that really needed to go for rags. We had a good natter while we worked, and of course, the evening never passes without a good laugh along the way!! We soon got through all the bags and managed to sort the good clothes from the not so good. Dalton was really happy with what we did and we sounded him out for some future jobs while we were at it! He seemed quite keen, so watch this space!

We couldn’t let the evening pass without celebrating Karen’s birthday, so at the end of the task, we headed off to our regular haunt, Hops for a drink and a slice of Connie (the caterpillar!). The cake was lush and the company was lovely as always.

Thanks for having us Lighthouse Centre and thanks for sharing your birthday with us Karen! I hope you enjoyed your evening as much as we did!
