Cold days like this can make some people struggle to get out of bed, but when the 40 year resident told us the story of her breaking her hip while trying to weed her garden, then Patrick, Steffi and I felt re-energised to try and make the paved part of the garden safe to walk again. As Patrick and Steffi got to work skimming the top layers of weed freeing it's way through the pavement, I was handed a new tool to fight this meddling threat. It was a heat gun that burns the weeds almost down to the root. It took a while to heat up but once it started, the sweet smell of success smelt like ash. I was more or less clean up crew to the hard work of Steffi and Patrick. The grey day was made easier with the tunes coming from Patrick's speaker. The task was completed and the occupant seemed happy to beable to see her paved step again.
