Boom! Break the broom

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Islington.

Beth and James helped Ms T by cleaning up a whole lotta leaves in her backyard.

First, however, we had to locate each other. James followed the Google Maps suggestion which as it turned out took him round the back of the property, while Beth correctly located the front door via some higher form of intuition. A dropped pin, an extra bit of running, and James was on the spot… which turned out to be the wrong spot after all. He had been in the right place all along as Ms T was expecting us around the back of her property.

And so to work we got - clearing up all the leaves that had accumulated in Ms T’s backyard. James showed typical professionalism by managing to break the broom on only his second sweep. Surely a record. And this was a task that would require a whole lotta sweeping.

Luckily he adapted to his now half-broom using an action inspired by a recent game of Tiddlycroquet. The less we say about James’ tiddly wink skills the better, however his broom-croqueting technique was a winner.

Together Beth and James made the sea of leaves miraculously disappear and left Ms T with a nice clear backyard - as we’ve illustrated with our before and after shots (Beth Hoskins for scale).
