A whopping 19 heros came out in artistic style last night, painting benches for The Burgess Park, Tigers Rugby team. It was Grrrrrrreeeeaaaaattt

Wowwwww how marvelous it was to see this massive crew hurtling down the high street, down to the river path, on route to our home for the eve; The Burgess Park community Sports MUGA. With trusty Pigeon in front and Beth at the rear, we kept up a good timed pace even collecting new runners on route Fran and Freddie. To be fair they had signed up and just missed the start, but it did feel rather funny to be like the pied piper of Peckham!!

So with my new recruits in the mix, we arrived in under 20mins at the gates of the park and we were absolutely **roaring to go!!

Vernon our fantastic host was already waiting at the gate for us with a table of goodies for our evening of tasking! Team colour paint, brushes and drills galore, to fix and brighten up these beautiful handmade benches. Although with just a couple of brushes short, our dear Pigeon had to fly back to her very own coup round the corner, to collect a couple more, what a star!

Before we could begin there were a few benches still out on the field. So some of the crew ran out far and wide to lift and carry them in, bench pressing their way back to the start line, while the rest planned their designs and broke into painting teams.

But like a light switch being flicked suddenly the dusk had settled in as we acknowledged for sure, the seasons were definitely on the change. But no fear was felt in the dark, because we had plenty of help, torches and car headlights and good old Tom (who we now get to part share with Camden hurrah) and his epic outdoor beams!! Yay!! So now fully lit and with all the benches collected, 30mins on the clock was announced and the teams got down to work.

Straight off we had some drills in action as Tom, Alex, Freddie and James got crafty with fixing the wobbly ones and it was soooooooo amazing watching the artistic flair begin to EXPLODE all over the task as the brilliant teams set to work on an epic evening of Art Attack!

Ali went renegade and got cracking with her own designs, a glorious sprawling of 'Go Tigers' on the back of hers! While Josh, Ben and our second Ali got very nifty with their masking tape stripe designs, which turned out sooooo well, Tony eat your Hart out!

Mhairi and Sam worked effortlessly as a team creating beautiful tiger themed stripes all night. Although I'm sad to say I attempted claw marks to help them out and ended up adding 4 bunches of bananas instead! Sorry girls. No more monkeying around from me!! Giraji, Dan and Fran worked seamlessly, moonlighting as the orange paint hoarders but creating beautiful patterns none the less. While Pigeon got to work on her own graffiti lettering and Lydia, Alex and Katie won the prize for the most volume of black paint utilised.

Beth and Emma seemed to be like the most insync painting duo and their tiger print won the admiration of everyone, even Vernon naming it his favourite at the end, as he passed out the medals for excellent team work!

As I counted down the last of the minutes everyone had produced some beautiful work and Vernon was delighted with our Goodgym painting efforts. So much so in fact, that he began listing all the future tasks he had in store for us all through October!!! Yyyaaaayyyy we can't wait!!!

So off we went home and it was a swift pace back through the night. Chatting and laughing with paint in our hair and on some foreheads too..... well just Mhairi but she rocked it regardless! haaaaaaaa

What an amazing night of jungle fever! A brilliant task completed with flair, by my ferocious crew of cool cats

See you next time fit fam!!

DO GOOD. FEEL GOOD. INSPIRE
