Acting captain in Acton

My red shirt has barely dried out after the first mission when I picked up a distress signal from the Acton quadrant. I knew the area well and thought the mission will be a piece of cake during a break from my usual duties. A food bank collection and delivery must be bread and butter for the senior GG officers - but it was not for a rookie like me.

I was expecting two things: a queue and a specific order to pick linked to my voucher. Only the first assumption was correct. When the lovely people at Oak Tree Anglican Fellowship invited me in to pick the products it was a bit too late to make calls to HQ or the person in need. I had to become acting captain and choose the items myself, without knowing anything about the person. I did my best to play it safe, opting for classic canned goodies, mostly vegetables. I hoped that the person in need is not a vegan, so I risked a can of tuna and cheese ravioli. Parsnips and Brussels sprouts weren't popular that day, so I was able to take a fair amount without worrying that there won't be enough veggies left for others.

When I finally arrived at my destination, it turned out that the canned soups, cheese ravioli and tuna were spot on, the same with the parsnips and Brussels sprouts. The rice and simple cornflakes were sadly a miss but it seemed like Mrs J. can share them with her neighbours. The mission outcome was not perfect but Mrs J. received the food she needs and the red shirt gained some experience.
