A trip down memory lane

Mrs S was feeling quite lonely and isolated this week as she hadnt had many visitors or any phone calls from friends/family. She had been out to the hospital for tests on Tuesday which had given her a taste of being in a more stimulating environment than watching TV at home.

Thanks to Talking Pictures TV and their nostalgic look at times gone by, I distracted Mrs S by asking her about what life was like when she was younger. We talked about her first job and how she bought her Mum a washing machine with her first pay packet, her memories of washing clothes in a large deep sink and drying them through the mangle, her memories of travelling on the old steam trains with corridors, compartments and bench seats. As a lover of history I was fascinated by her vivid descriptions and felt I had been back in time to share those experiences.

I'm going to source some old film posters to show her on my next visit to spark her amazing recall of actors, roles, plotlines and general trivia.
