Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Woking runner
Although 7 runners had signed up for the mission, only 4 of us appeared at the meeting point. But this did not deter Maya, Victoria, Gareth and Anne who enthusiastically ran along the canal towards West Byfleet.
It was lovely to see Katie who was meeting a friend in town. She stopped by to give us some encouragement for the mission.
Armed with 2 litter pickers (thanks to Maya and Gareth) we went on our treasure hunt. There was not too much to gather along the canal, but, oh my… what gems we discovered when reaching the Brookhouse Common… Within half an hour six bags were filled up. We could have carried on if Anne had brought more bags (lesson learnt!) and if the rain had not stopped our eagerness.
News: Katie completed a half marathon last weekend and is fundraising for Shooting Star Children Hospices. Victoria, who recently moved to Woking, has just resigned from her position to be able to look after her little boy. Gareth writes in his spare time, look up “Bertie & Winnie”. Maya is still working hard on her gardening skills while regularly taking part in (not) parkrun. Anne ran the Virtual London Vitality 10,000 and cannot wait to get a medal.
We hope to meet you at the junior parkrun this coming Sunday at 8:45am in Woking Park and/or next Wednesday at the allotment where Holly, being refreshed from her time away, will have more targets for us to achieve.

In the meantime, happy running to you all.
