Ms J told me that for the first time in a very long time she'd actually managed to get out of her flat yesterday with a friend, to buy some flowers (I think she meant this type, and not the self raising version...) and enjoy the change of scene and some proper fresh air.

From hereon, I shall be using Ms J's stories of her outdoor adventures as a reasonable barometer of our improving times.
