After a warm wet February, weeds were already thriving among the saplings at the Ladywell Tiny Forest and it was clear what the priority task was for today's volunteer session. Luckily, it proved easy to uproot even the biggest weeds, thanks to the damp ground being so soft. A few more sessions will be needed to weed and mulch the whole site but we got off to a satisfying start, helping to ensure the 600 baby trees can grow strong in their second season since planting. As always, it was fun working with the community 'tree keepers' who, together with GoodGymers, regularly devote care and energy to tending this important environmental project.
