Three awesome runners covered over 2km to clear up at the Woolwich Common Community Centre!

Well it was REALLY cold this morning and sadly the turnout was lower than expected at today's starter session but let's focus on the positives! It was a lovely sunny crisp morning, perfect for a run!

We welcomed a new runner, Nathalie, who has just moved to the area. Lovely to meet you Nathalie and welcome to the borough of Greenwich! Resident runner Vickie also came along after having already run 5 miles from home! Dedication!

We did a little warm up with a few runs up and down the stairs and we were good to go.

The first part of the run consisted of nice long hill. Unfortunately not the most picturesque of routes as it was along the main road but we had a pretty lengthy list of things to do at the community centre so wanted to get there ASAP to get as much done as possible!

Hidden gem!

We arrived at the community centre which was a seemingly small place, nestled in the corner of a residential area but the place was actually massive with a lovely back garden and allotment/community garden! It was so nice!

We had a very warm welcome from Rob who offered us a cup of tea as soon as we got there! He then showed us where all the tools were and tried his best to decipher the notes that were left for us! The main thing was just giving the place a bit of a tidy up: clearing litter, sweeping and bagging leaves, and trimming the overgrown hedges.

We were there around 45 minutes in total and managed to clear the place up nicely! We went back in to see Rob and the hospitality continued in the form of 6x bottles of POM for us to take home with us! So kind!

We said our goodbyes then set off back on our run and stopped off at the Woolwich Barracks field for the fitness session. 6 rounds of EMOM (every minute on the minute) with squats, mountain climbers and bicycle crunches just to get that leg burn and core worked! Another 500m of running and we were done! Time for a cooldown stretch and final photo with our POMs before we parted ways!

Thanks so much for coming ladies despite the cold weather! We got loads done even though there wasn't many of us so really well done! Nathalie hopefully see you at a group run soon! And Vickie see you in a few days!
