4 lovely ladies ran over 6km to spread the word about Ealing Half Marathon!

Last night was SO COLD. Plus our meeting point is still smelling rather iffy. Rosie has her dead body suspicions but I refuse to believe them! Whilst trying to shake the sinister images out of my head, along came Steph, and it's a good job too as I saw the terrified look on Rosie's face thinking that we were going to have to distribute those flyers between the two of us! And then in the nick of time, Kerry came storming down the hill on her bike! PERFECT!

We did a little warm up consisting of a little jog and some dynamic stretches and then set off through the beautiful Walpole Park! We headed for the residential streets of South West Ealing, since it is around there that the race starts anyway. We stopped a the edge of the first street, took a group photo flyers in hand and off we went! Two of us took once side of the street whilst two took the other and then we met at the end!

I personally quite enjoy a flyering task and it makes for quite good interval training as you are constantly speeding up and slowing down! Although it does come with a fair few challenges! Firstly, gates. SO many gates. All which open differently, some of them didn't even open at all... how do these people get into their homes!? Yeah so gates are a nuisance. Secondly, those inner post box brushy things that chew up your flyer... not a fan of those. And lastly, the "NO JUNK MAIL" signs... you get half way up someone's drive and then you see the sign in tiny writing... well thanks for that!

We were making quite good time. The girls were clearing flyers pretty quickly and my master pile was getting smaller and smaller! We snaked up and down the streets hitting as many houses as we could and by about 8 o'clock, we had shifted them all! AMAZING!

Sprintervals!

Now in case we weren't doing enough interval training already, I thought we might as well go all out and get some even faster ones in on the way back. Plus Ealing is lined with beautiful trees and fancy lampposts which make for great landmarks to sprint to! A few sprints later and we were feeling pretty puffed! It really takes it out of you! We took a lovely photo by the cute bridge in the park and then jogged the rest of the way back to the gym for some stretches!

Well done last night ladies! Can't believe we actually got them all posted, amazing work!! And if you are tempted to sign up to the half yourself, you can get 10% off with code "GoodGym10"! See you next week!
