Friends of St Margarets Station Planter Project
Friends of St Margaret's Station aims to enhance the existing train station to be a vibrant part of the St Margaret's community. The station is often an entry point for visitors to historic places such as English Heritage's Marble Hill House and JW Turner's home or events at the National Rugby Stadium in Twickenham. St Margaret's is a commuter community within London yet maintains a friendly village atmosphere that Friends of St Margaret's Station want to reflect. The platform 1 project will construct 2 new planters on a platform that is only accessed by stairs. The planters will require wooden planks measuring 1.6m and approximately 750kg top soil to be carried up and down stairs to the platform. Once the plants are established, there will be opportunities for maintenance gardening.

Construct 2 wooden planters 120 x 90 x 80 cm. The planters are pre-cut kits but will take some coordination to build. The planters will then be filled with 1/2 ton soil. Bags of soil will be moved from a side road to the platform, which will require navigating 2 sets of stairs. Plant pots will also need to be brought to platform and planted.
