LEAVES GALORE!

36 brilliant runners, new and old, did a lovely warm up and ran 1 mile down to help Brixton youth club

It was a very chilly night but that didn't stop a whole heap of lovely runners coming along to Papa's Park to start off their new year running. It was great to see old runners return after their Christmas break and to see lots of lovely new smiling faces joining the ranks as well.

We used the basketball court to do a nice warm up, including introducing ourselves to new faces. Once we had got a bit warmer, we ran down Brixton road - half the group on the left, half on the right so as not to bother the Great British Public too much. Once we arrived, Howard the caretaker said Hello and we got to work clearing all of the leaves out of the yard.

Howard was excited as the club has a new Chair of the Board who is looking to spruce the place up a bit and we will be key to making it happen. Brilliant!

After a short example on running form from the lovely John Hunter, we all ran home as if we had balloons attached to our heads, so our backs were straight and we ran nice and tall - a key aspect to good running form.

We did some squats and lunges in the court on our return, then some nice stretches before heading back out into the chill. Great work team Lambeth and a massive welcome to all our new runners!
