Date and time
10:00 - 12:00The Luton and Dunstable Conservation Volunteers have started their winter programme, rotating around Luton and Bedfordshire's nature reserves. This Sunday they will be at Hay Wood on Stopsley Common.
Expect the usual clearing of scrub and brambles, ensuring the area doesn't become too overgrown and that there's space for a diverse range of plants.
There's also the chance to plant some trees at this one, as hazel trees will be planted under the bigger trees to add another layer of diversity and begin what will become a quality woodland given a few more years.
Meet at the car park on St Thomas' Road and head over with the team then you won't get lost! If you are late, to get to Hay Wood you will need to cross the cricket pitches on Stopsley Common, (see the other photo on this listing) or head across the field behind the Inspire sports centre.
All tools will be provided as well as hot tea or coffee.
We'll join for a couple of high-effort hours from 10am but the team will be there all day until 3pm, you're welcome to stay longer if you want to.
How are you getting there?
