Phase 2 of the LOROS Leicester Marathon leaflet drop in Belgrave was successfully completed by the GoodGym Team tonight.

It start in pleasant sunshine with a leisurely jog along the canal looking out for Graffitti and Rubbish in readiness for next weeks task. A stop at North Lock to do a bit of balance and heel flexing straight out of the Great South Run magazined that dropped through my letterbox today along with my race number.

Then it was a continue along the canal to Belgrave Circle to my waiting car for distribution of the leaflets.

We welcomed new runner Ian tonight - transpires Ian is the manager of the local branch of the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust in Loughborough and we opened discussions on how our 2 organisations might partner in some future events.

Also back in the fold for the first time since launch night was Katy and good to see Miranda back on it after a couple of weeks away.

With leaflets divvied up - 400+ to be precise - We jogged along Belgrave Rd to find our designated streets and I went back to the meet point to set up tonights fitness action.

Tis rumoured that Jimmy had a run in with an elderly resident who snarled at him for not using the correct letterbox (crystal balls are not standard issue to GoodGym runners) and Jen was seen sneaking through a hole in a fence to deliver some of her quota - good job the guard dogs werent around.

All safely back to meet point I set up a simple sprint relay in graded pairs to give all teams an equal chance of winning - I have actually no idea who in fact did win as I was too busy trying to take photos and also a video but not sure if I will be able to load it - all I do know is there were some fine efforts going on. Certainly plenty of breathlessness so no one was holding back.

For the run back we took in the town with Jim at the front and me on the tail with Leigh Jen and Katy - Katy asked my advice on where to buy a good headtorch to which my reply was anywhere except where I got mine as I have no luck at all with the damned things.

My watch said 6.2k but I didnt run the streets or do the sprints - Ian clocked just about 5 miles which is a very tidy little session.

I put Lindsay on the spot with the stretches - if she is going to be a run leader its the sort of thing she will be asked to help with - not an eyelid was batted, a few simple sensible stretches confidently delivered - all done and home in time for Doctor Foster!!!

See you all next time.
