Sheila met with GoodGym first-timer Sharon to help out at the Baby Bank. Sharon had impressively walked all the way from the other side of Maidenhead, truly getting into the GoodGym spirit at the first opportunity. They already had a team of volunteers helping out upstairs with the clothes, so we were given the task of sorting through a huge pile consisting mostly of blankets and bedding. These were all donations which needed to be checked that they were in good enough condition to be handed out to needy families. Sharon soon got the hang of the quality criteria and where to store the sorted items. There were so many beautiful blankets which had been hand-knitted and crocheted which will soon be winging their way to new homes. All to the background of the usual activity of items being collected and new donations coming in. By the end of the session we had manged to clear most of the pile, clearing some much needed floorspace in the busy thorough-fare. It was great to meet Sharon at the beginning of her GoodGym journey. Welcome!
