Today, four GoodGymmers met up to help Camden Highline install a pocket park at Camden Gardens in the second of three volunteering sessions.

This session truly was the middle of the installation job. Following on from GoodGym's help in the first volunteering session, we continued our work in filling up some planters with soil.

As Beth and I were staying with Camden Highline all day, we took a short lunch break about 30-40 mins into the 2.5 hour session. In that time, the other volunteers managed to fill the rest of the planters with soil and we were ready to start planting!

Despite the vast amount of planting that GoodGymmers do, it often seems as though we receive slightly different instructions each time. Today's variation relied on us having to dunk the plants into buckets of water prior to planting "until the bubbles stop". While this sounds rather violent/murderous for planting, I suppose it fits in with the nature of, well, nature. Thankfully, regardless of how muddy the water buckets got after all that dunking, nobody screamed muddy murder, and so all of the plants still appeared to be alive post-planting ๐Ÿ˜‰

As there were lots of volunteers despite the stirrings of storm Dennis in the background, I picked up a broom and decided to sweep gravel back where it belonged instead of planting. It was a good broom ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜„ Brushing gravel against the wind made me wonder if this was, in fact, the true meaning of windswept ๐Ÿค”

We finished up with a selfie for good measure, before Beth and I embarked upon volunteering session three of three for Camden Highline ๐Ÿ˜Ž
