Placeholder for a jog and introductory session to GoodGym. Might be going to a pub quiz afterwards.

This evening we'll meet up for a gentle 3-5 km jog around the city centre and provide some time and space to look at how GoodGym and regular movement can form part of a generally positive outlook on life. GoodGym is all about promoting a healthy and active lifestyle while doing good locally at the same time, providing a purpose to put your trainers on and get out of the door.

Recently, a charity Natalie Kate Moss Trust got in contact with us. They raise funds and, importantly, awareness for looking after your brain health, all to reduce lifestyle-associated risks in blood pressure and brain haemorrhages. Regular physical exercise forms a significant part of this, alongside a balanced diet, regular sleep patterns, plus other things. Their Brain Gym guide is completely free and provides small steps for a healthier outlook on life.

In the future, we might do more sessions like this or related activities to raise awareness for local charities and how GoodGym can help or work alongside them.

About GoodGym

We're a friendly and social group who combine exercise with helping out in the local community. We meet every week to get active and do a physical task to help the charities and community organisations and projects across the Manchester region.

The Run/Walk/Cycle

GoodGym is for everyone. We welcome runners of all abilities. We always have a back-marker so no-one is left behind - we're about achieving something together so you'll always be welcome no matter what your pace is.

Dress appropriately for outdoor conditions. Lights and hi vis for the darker evenings.

New to GoodGym?

This is a GoodGym group run, where we run to help a local community organisation and then run back.

New GoodGymers are welcome to GoodGym group runs - no one gets left behind. You're unlikely to be alone, hundreds of new people sign up every week.

Options are available to run between 3km and 5km in total

Remember that we run to and from the task, so you'll only be running for half this distance in one go.

This is a standard GoodGym group run. If you can't run for more than 15mins without stopping or you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact us.
