It’s time!!

After months of steady Saturday graft, muddy trainers, and some very respectable equipment scrubbing, fence painting, leaf raking, flat packing and hedge-building, the Knaphill Lower School garden is so close to the finish line. What it needs now is a proper Woking GoodGym surge! May I request you join me for one focused, one-hour Woking team effort to bring it home and finish 8 months of hard graft properly, as a team ❤️

📅 Wednesday 6 May ⏰ 6:45 pm (task start) ⏱ One-hour push

Whether you’ve been there since the first spade hit the ground or you’ve yet to see what’s been taking shape, this is the session to be part of.

🏃‍♀️ Social run option Meet canal side at WWF at 6:00 pm for a relaxed 6 km run to the school.

🚶‍♂️ Direct-to-task option Prefer to skip the run? Head straight to Knaphill Lower School for 6:45 pm.

🧤 What to bring • Gardening gloves (strongly advised) • Any handheld tools (if you have them) • Spare seeds or plants you’d be happy to donate

There’s planting to complete, spaces to finish, and those final touches that turn a “project” into a space the school can properly enjoy.

And, as an added incentive… this is a rare and exclusive viewing opportunity to see the now-famous Woking GoodGym bird boxes (painted with great care some months ago) proudly installed in situ. Worth the trip alone, frankly.

Let’s give Vikki, Mark, and the PTA the finish this project deserves - and leave behind something genuinely special for the school community.

This final push isn’t just about finishing a garden; it’s about creating a space that genuinely improves everyday life for the Knaphill Lower School community. The garden will give pupils a calm, engaging outdoor area to learn, play, and explore nature, something that supports wellbeing as much as education. For parents and the wider school community, it becomes a shared space they can feel proud of, shaped by local effort and care. It’s a small project with a wide ripple effect: brighter school days for children, a stronger sense of community for families, and a lasting reminder that when people show up together, practical things get done - and they matter.

One hour. Big turnout (friends welcome). Job done ❤️
