Our final run of 2016 and the group pushed themselves super hard - maybe it is knowing all the food, drink and telly watching that awaits!!

We were a group of 6 and had a festive fitness fun task ahead. Everyone made an effort to look festive, shout out to Daryl and his amazing jumper!

Our run took us westbound along the seafront to the bright lights of the new Bournemouth Pier Christmas big wheel. Once there, the team tested their fitness with an uphill dash to deliver their Christmas lists to Santa.

Meanwhile I set up for a few festive games. The first having a shot glass theme - no room for the alcohol in my bag though I'm afraid! We split in 2 teams, the 'ups' and the 'overs'. The ups had to ensure the shot glass were upright while the overs had to flip them upside down. We set a stopwatch and dashed about the seafront battling to keep the glasses up or over. A great game for interval fitness and agility as we darted about like crazy people. Only a few shot glass were crushed in the making of the game!

Prizes were awarded for the winning team AND while our backs were turned, some little monkey youth ran off with MY FAIRY LIGHTS. Saddest moment ever!

Next game was decorating the Christmas Tree. Teams ran relays out to a chalk-marked tree and had to place decorations one by one on the tree. The competitiveness was amazing but the wind blowing off the sea created a bit of a mix up so prizes went to everyone. The prizes were no expense spared corner shop specials, planes, water bombs and bubbles!!

Final game was an Elf/Santa relay....and you guys really went for it. Hope you're seeing a noticeable improvement in your fitness. I see it!

The run home was super quick, with lots of looping back to stay as a group. The bright lights, warm pub and cold drinks awaited us.

A brilliant first year for GoodGym Bournemouth. Thank you all for your commitment. Have an amazing Christmas and New Year. See you back in Lycra on the 4th Jan!!!
