Report written by Rachael (GoodGym Barnsley)
4 runners made their way to The Exodus Project shop in Barnsley town centre.
We hot-footed it over to the town centre store of The Exodus Project - a charity that works with children and families in Barnsley: from one activity club in the town centre, the project has grown to 15 activity clubs, a weekend activity centre, two charity shops, 11 staff, 70+ volunteers, 3 mini buses and a large white van!
The group were tasked with helping to freshen up the inside of the shop. We split up between ground floor and top floor and set to work with dusting the furniture, sweeping the floors, and hoovering the carpets.
We spoke with Jackie about the charity and about the shop itself: it has been set up for two years tucked away near the Alhambra, and sell a variety of furniture, books, games and clothes with all proceeds going towards the charity.
After our nice little run back to base, we did some leg work to get those quads burning:
all finished off with a good stretch. Great work team 😊
Next week, we will be working alongside the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust with another litter pick. Click here to sign up.
