Cutting, Sandpapering, Chopping, Levelling at St Mary's Allotment Gardens.
The allotments are a focal point for the community, so our help is needed to prepare for their next open day, and to encourage plotholders to maintain the communal space.

19:00 - 20:15Our contact Sybil at the Emmanuel Church (Romford Road) has asked if we can help out at the St Mary's Allotments again in preparation for a Cabin Open Day that they are holding on 18th July.
The tasks will involve cutting some creeping ivy, sandpapering the furniture, chopping and removing weeds around the area where they hold the social, and levelling an area where they hope to expand the social area.
We've helped out at the allotments a few times in the past (usually in the dark, so it'll be good to do a daylight task...), and it's always very satisfying to see how much our efforts can improve the overall look and feel of the space. It's also very enjoyable to have plot holder volunteers to work alongside as it gives us all a sense of ownership, and as Sybil points out, it shows them what can be done with a bit of effort, determination and teamwork!
Tools will be provided, but please bring gardening gloves if you have them.
