About Dora Brown Dora Brown is a large team of ‘sturdy girl’ volunteers who transform homes, free-of-charge, for families living in crisis; homes which have broken down because of furniture + hygiene poverty + domestic neglect We make-over homes with clearance, deep cleaning, organising + self-care systems like bathing, laundry + cleaning. With donations + our corporate partners we provide furniture, carpets, curtains, bedding, hygiene products + whatever necessities are needed. We also gift toys, cushions, fruit bowls + other nice homely things that improve family wellbeing. We support families long term until they are able to maintain their homes themselves + feel the benefits of a nurturing home Dora Brown forms part of social care provision; social workers, health visitors + other agency practitioners refer families to us. Dora Brown provides fast relief to families where the home is the major factor affecting quality of life. We prioritise families where Child Protection Plans hinge on the state of the home, hygiene + self care Dora Brown works with families suffering severe hardship for any reason. We work with families of any size, in any type of home. We treat every family + home with respect, sensitivity + confidentiality. We never judge. No matter how bad people feel their home or situation is, we’re here to help. We roll up our sleeves + get stuck in Dora Brown’s pilot hub is in Ipswich, also serving Woodbridge, Felixstowe + rural surrounds. Dora works in family homes every Friday, 9-2. Our work is only made possible through our growing teams of banging volunteers; our fantastic corporate sponsors + partners; generous charitable grants + your donations of stuff + money. Community Mission: Friday 2nd June 10-12pm

Supporting the work of Dora Brown, a charity that supports families living in crisis; homes which have broken down because of furniture + hygiene poverty + domestic neglect.

This Community Mission will involve supporting Dora Brown’s mission in their vulnerable family’s home by helping clear a garden.

The task will take place in a home located between Holywells Park and Landseers Park. The exact location will be shared once you sign up due to data protection and safeguarding.

A reminder that Community Missions do not include a running element- we meet at the Task Location but encourage you to come on foot or by bike :)
