24 Hackney GoodGymers ran 6k to Abney Park Cemetery to help with the ongoing maintenance of the magnificent cemetery.

On a virtual Spring evening in Hackney we had a firm favourite of a task to tackle! Welcoming our first time runners and reminding everyone about the Hackney Marsh Parkrun GoodGym take over on Saturday morning as well as the Hackney Half special training session at lunch time. Be great to have you along to them so sign up on the website and come along!

Keeping as a tight group we navigated the 3k from the Bakehouse to Abney Park to meet Tom. Where we split up into 3 groups. First group dominated some serious digging and baby tree planting and those thirsty trees needed a lot of water to bed down! The other 2 groups went to 2 different sides of the park and got to business shovelling, barrowing, raking thus creating 2 beautiful paths totalling 200 metres in length!!

A big finish and our last dark cemetery task for a while over we sped our way 3k back to base to round of a top session!!

Be great to see you at Core CIC next week for some extreme painting action!!

Smooth Running

Joel
