Mulch, mulch, mulch!

Saturday 14th February

Written by Kimberley Powell (She/her)

It was a tough session of filling wheelbarrows with compost and then pushing it up the hill through the mud to the young tress that were planted last year but the rare glimpse of sunshine made it all worth it! Other volunteers from other groups were also removing the plastic protective covers from the more established hedges.

Thanks to Trees for Wimborne for having us again.

From spoil to soil

Saturday 24th January

Written by Kimberley Powell (She/her)

Joanna and Kim were back at the Corner Stone Patch in Hamworthy for some hard and dirty work turning the compost piles.

It was soggy and grey but that didn’t hinder their determination to get the job done.

They pulled the garden waste out from the bins so that it could be sorted and put back in suitably to ensure the waste becomes beautiful compost to be used later in the year for growing vegetables for the local community.

Sea how much we collected

Sunday 4th January

Written by Sophie Cuff

On Sunday 4 goodgymmers, Emma, Harry, Loren and Sophie met up in Turlin moor for a morning litter pick. It was lovely to meet Loren who has recently moved to the local area, hope you felt welcomed! We bundled up and attempted to tackle the mounds of rubbish left at the boat yard, this was a difficult task, as cold weather had frozen lots of the rubbish making it difficult to collect. We all regrouped after for a lovely warm cup of tea, courtesy of the Parks foundation. Hope to see you all again soon!
