Sunday 23rd August

On a lovely sunny Sunday, we headed to Ipswich juniors parkrun to volunteer! โ
I volunteered as barcode scanner & it was Amber's first time volunteering at junior parkrun! She marshalled at the start. It was a lovely way to start our Sunday's and definitely would encourage more people to volunteer at their local parkruns or junior parkruns. ๐ช
Bonus: a flapjack enjoyed at the end! (spotted in the photo ๐)

Rain?! What's rain?โ๏ธ
Not seen that for a while! But nice that the sun made its appearance after a drizzle โ๏ธ. I headed out for some miles along the waterfront, to have a look at some areas that need some aid in litterpicking along the waterfront. We will head there on the next group run so do sign up & join us! ๐งค

Wednesday group run consisted of a social 5k this week ๐
Myself & Prakash headed out on a warm Wednesday for a local 5k loop, as no task was arranged for this week. It was rather enjoyable and nice to get out in the fresh air for a bit of socialising and exercise! โ๐ฌ
We are due to be back on the volunteering ASAP so join us soon for a run & some volunteering - check back for details ๐

Last night we headed out on a hot Wednesday evening โ
The original plan was to help out at Murrayside community centre again but upon arrival, we were told the taskowner had gone home. So instead we carried on our run in the sun! A nice social run instead ๐ฌ๐

It was good to be back after the heatwave caused us to cancel last week! And we were headed to a new task โ
In typical Thursday group run style, the three of us - myself, Leanne and Miles met at the Uni building. This week, we were headed somewhere new so we took to Bishop's Hill and headed to Murrayside Community Centre โ.
When we arrived, we were met by Martin who showed us around and explained the projects he was working on in the outside garden area ๐ณ. We soon got cracking with watering plants & grabbing the shovels to tackle a big mound of dirt to even out the area, which was to eventually be laid with astro turf ๐ช๐ฑ. After an hour's work, we were pretty pleased with how much we had done! Then headed home on a warm sunny Thursday ๐.

Last night we headed back to the scout hut to finish Project Paint Fence!
Myself & Leanne met at the usual waterfront point on a very hot Wednesday evening to run to the scout hut โ.
Once we were there, we got the paint out and cracked on with painting the fence whilst chatting away - a nice break from running in the heat! Between the 2 of us we soon completed the fence that we started a few weeks ago, so it was fab to see the finished result ๐ช๐ป.
