The trusty trio headed back to the scout hut to grab the paintbrushes & rollers ๐ซ
Myself, Imogen and Prakash teamed up to tackle the scout hall walls with a second coat of paint this evening. A lot of progress was made between the three of us and we've almost finished with the painting of the hall!
Shout out to Imogen for today's punny title!
Join us on our next group run, everyone is welcome :)

The Terrific (or Terrible - depending on who you ask) Two hit the ground running this morning with a trip to the People's Community Garden allotments. ๐ณ
First up, well done Tia for your first GoodGym session! Lovely to have you join.
The sun was out and we ran 2.5k to the allotment โ where we were met by Phoebe who greeted us and got us started with our job for the morning. We got our gloves on and grabbed the shovels to get stuck in with sieving the compost heap into a wheelbarrow to use for the gardens. Amongst the soil, we found many different creatures - one pictured with Tia in which she was proud to show off ๐ชฑ
We managed to fill up several wheelbarrow loads in our hour there so it was a successful morning! Finishing off with a run home through the park in the sun ๐

40mph+ winds accompanied us on our group run tonight but it didn't put us off! Myself (Natasha), Leanne & Miles met at the University and battled through the wind to run to the scout hut, where we met Prakash who got blown by the wind on his bike! ๐ฒ
We targeted the second half of the scout hut tonight with paint, where we had got up to last week. We even had some tunes to keep us going, courtesy of Miles ๐ถ
Unfortunately I forgot to take any photos, so Chat GPT to the rescue... enjoy!
A successful session was completed and task-owner Adele was pleased. Next up - community mission on Monday! ๐ฏ๐๐ช

First session at Little Learners was a success!
The four of us met at the nursery to tackle tidying the nursery garden & the nursery pathway - clearing leaves, rubbish and debris. Many bin bags were filled and we came away pleased with our efforts - ready for the children to explore the garden and the pathway clearer to access.
Shoutout to Princess, Paul and Kirsty for all completing their first GoodGym session - great to have you guys come along!
Next up, Thursday group run ๐๐จ sign up here - https://www.goodgym.org/v3/sign-up/lending-a-hand-at-scout-group-2fae3926-cf31-48b3-9947-f6b790bebf6f

This week, it was the fantastic four - we met at the waterfront and headed on up to the 31st / 9th scout group, tackling the almighty Back Hamlet hill along the way. Great chats along the way & well done Miles for your Chelmsford half marathon ๐๐ป.
After our sanding efforts last week, we had the paint rollers at the ready, eager to get stuck in! Myself, Leanne & Prakash targeted the lower down (reachable!) walls with the rollers & more intricate sections with the brushes, whilst Miles got the job of using the longer pole & roller to reach the higher walls.
We'll be back next week to finish the second half of the hut.. and maybe go over some parts that some of us (me) may have missed haha!
Thank you guys for another great session! ๐

GoodGym Ipswich was officially re-launched tonight with the first session & group run of many
The 6 of us headed to the 31st/9th Scout Group where we sanded all of the skirting boards ready to begin painting next week and the weeks to come. You can imagine the dust from all that sanding... but alas a Henry hoover was found and it was like nothing had ever happened!
It was great to meet everyone and chat about all sorts, including previous GoodGym ventures in Ipswich which was really interesting to hear about. Thanks Imogen, Miles, Leanne , Prakash & Jack for all coming to the launch. And extra thanks to Imogen for this week's punny title!
Thank you to the 31st/9th Scout group for welcoming us into the hut and we will be back next time ready to roll up our sleeves and get the paint out.
