All of our tasks are fun, but this one really felt like we were having a clear and direct impact on those in need, and whilst packing the bags we could literally imagine a child opening their bag on Christmas Day.

This week, we will be meeting at The Arc Centre for a community mission.
A bag drop will not be provided for this session, as we will be ending at a different spot.
Meet up point
The Arc Centre 98b St Paul Street London N1 7DF
Area Activator Simon will be leading a "plogging" walk session along Regent's Canal, Islington. Plogging is a mix of the Swedish words for "pick-up" and "jogging".
Our plan is to walk the towpath together (eastbound), while picking up litter on route.
We recommend bringing gloves and a head torch, but Area Activator Simon will still have some on hand, just in case.
Recycling and rubbish bags will be provided, along with a few litter pickers and a dustpan and brush.
We will also have bags of bird seed on offer!
The waterfowl on Regent's Canal have a hard time in Winter, especially with the icy waters reducing access to usual food sources. We will spread seed and food to help them out!
Our finishing location will be at Dalston Junction overground station
Walk distance - 1.5 - 2 miles
Intended route can be seen here:
There's space to change and leave bags and a toilet. We're not planning to do anything purposefully dangerous, but GoodGym takes no responsibility for your safety during group runs, you participate at your own risk. Participants accept full responsibility for items stored at The Arc Centre, and The Arc Centre & GoodGym will not be held liable for any losses / damages.
Make sure you've read our general guidelines for safety for taking part in a GoodGym session.
This is a GoodGym group run, with the option of walking too. You'll meet other GoodGymers at the start location and run or walk to the task together. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact your area activator Simon Fitzmaurice by email at simonfitzmaurice@goodgym.org.
Options are available to run between 2km and 3km in total.
Remember that we will be running or walking to and from the task, so you'll only be running or walking for half this distance in one go.

GoodGym is a community of people that get fit by doing good. We run, walk and cycle to do practical tasks for community organisations and isolated older people.
