Come and join Area Activator and UK Coach in Running Fitness (CiRF) Simon for a fun mixed pace training session
Our plan is to meet up outside Common Ground Coffee, Stroud Green Road at 7.50am, before enjoying an easy jog and dynamic warm up at approximately 8am.
Our session is as follows:
Part 1
5 x 100m uphill strides
5 x 100m downhill strides
Strides are a great pace activation exercise- starting easy, building into max velocity at 50m, then winding back to easy pace.
And these work different muscles on the uphills and the downhills!
Part 2
Kenyan Hills Workout, following a 1.2 mile loop on the Finsbury Park slopes
8 minutes at moderate effort (60%) - steady pace
90 seconds walk recovery
5 minutes at Tempo pace (70-80% pace)
90 seconds walk recovery
5 minutes at Tempo pace (70-80% pace)
90 seconds walk
(22.5 minutes total duration)
Afterwards, we will make a trip back to Common Ground Coffee, Stroud Green for refreshments and snacks!
