About this session

ℹ️ About This Session

We are relaunching GoodGym Bromley with a Group Run every Monday evening.

Meeting in the cafe at The Pavilion by MyTime Active in The Glades, we will run a gentle 2km route to Bromley Palace Park to lend a hand with watering, weeding, litter picking and general upkeep of the beautiful green spaces around our borough, before heading back to base for an optional social.

📍 When and Where

This task will run from roughly 19:00 to 20:30 on Monday 10th August

Meet for the run: The Pavilion by MyTime Active @ 19:00

Location: The cafe in The Pavilion by Mytime Active – access to the left of reception – look for fellow volunteers in red GoodGym T-shirts Google Maps: The Pavilion by Mytime Active, Kentish Way, Bromley BR1 3EF What3Words: ///humans.palace.bring

Alternatively meet for the task: Bromley Palace Park @ 19:30

Location: By St Blaise’s Well inside the park, accessible from Rochester Avenue across the car park Google Maps: St Blaise’s Well, near the lake, Civic Centre, Bromley BR1 3DJ What3Words: ///sudden.banana.dunes

Mytime Active have kindly said we can leave belongings in lockers at The Pavilion and there are toilet facilities on site, plus the cafe for water, etc.

Any issues, you can call Bromley Area Activator Sam on 07790 553 886.

🌱 The Task

After a gentle warm up we will set off around 19:15 with a leader and back marker ensuring nobody gets left behind, aiming to arrive by St Blaise’s Well in Bromley Palace Park at 19:30.

Please bring gardening gloves if you have them to hand. There we will support with watering, weeding, litter picking and general upkeep of the park.

☕️ Post-Run Refreshments

Around 20:15 we will head back to return to the The Pavilion for roughly 20:30.

The Railway Tavern by Bromley North station has said we are welcome for post-run refreshments. It's an eight minute stroll from The Pavilion and it'd be lovely if you can join us.

What to look out for

Make sure you've read our general guidelines for safety for taking part in a GoodGym session.

This is a GoodGym group run, with the option of walking too. You'll meet other GoodGymers at the start location and run or walk to the task together. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact your area activator Sam Rider - Bromley Area Activator (he/him) by email at samrider@goodgym.org.

Options are available to run between 4km and 5km in total.

Remember that we will be running or walking to and from the task, so you'll only be running or walking for half this distance in one go.
