For this session we're going to meet at the task, so you'll need to make your own way there. We encourage you to walk, run, or cycle to do so!
Richmond Furniture Scheme are a local furniture recycling charity based in the borough of Richmond. Their philosophy is to help those in need in the community to access quality furniture at a reasonable price. They welcome donations of furniture that you no longer need and also hope that you will want to come and browse in their showroom. Additionally, in support of their sustainable objectives, RFS run a workshop called Carousel where they give new life to once-loved furniture by repairing and up-cycling selected pieces. Their objectives are supporting Poverty, Environment and Unemployment.
We've started a regular partnership with RFS whereby we will help them every three months. Tasks will vary but will involve things such as clearing up the outside yard, piecing together bedframes with no instructions, repairing or painting furniture and upcycling various objects. This should definitely be a fun one!
Any support will be greatly appreciated by all involved!
First timers are more than welcome and this is a great task to see what we are all about!
Tools will be provided. If you're happy to be involved with painting, you may want to wear clothes/trainers that you don't mind getting tainted with a bit of paint!

Welcome to Richmond Furniture Scheme. Your local furniture recycling charity based in Twickenham, where you can find good value for money and quality second-hand furniture! Richmond Furniture Scheme is a small charitable organisation set up to help people in need by collecting donated furniture in good condition from the Richmond borough area and reusing it. A small charge is made to those people that are referred. But to ensure that all donated furniture is reused, and to help make the Scheme more self-sufficient, the Scheme is open to sell furniture to all people residing in the Richmond Borough.
