For this session we're going to meet at the task, so you'll need to make your own way there. We encourage you to walk, run, or cycle to do so!
For the first time in several years the Battersea Arts Centre is able to restart its tradition of hosting a Christmas Day party at Battersea Arts Centre this year offering a fun and magical celebration for those local families and residents who may struggle, financially or emotionally, with the festive season.
They need help from volunteers to support them on the day. Without it they would not be able to offer this event out to local people who may be struggling this year.
The event will take place in the Grand Hall on Christmas day and guests will be referred through local networks and organisations.
Could you join as a volunteer on the day? If so, they need support in the following areas:
· Welcoming guests
· Decorating and setting up
· Helping us to serve lunch
· Managing the cloakroom
· Assisting with transport
· Entertainment
· General pastoral care
· Clearing down
Timings (approximate at present)
They are looking for volunteers who can be there for either:
· Morning (9am – 2pm approx.)
· Afternoon (12noon – 5pm approx.)
· All day
To find out more, or to sign up as a volunteer please contact volunteers@bac.org.uk or 0207 223 2223 by Monday 21 November
Email subject: Christmas Day volunteering
· Your name and contact details
· What you would be interested in doing
· What time you can offer. If you can be available for one of the timing slots listed above, that would be great but if not, don’t worry!
· If you will need help with transport on the day
· If you need any further support in order to volunteer
Make sure you've read our general guidelines for safety for taking part in a GoodGym session.
This is a GoodGym community mission. When we're doing a community mission we make our own way to the task, so you can choose to walk, run, or cycle. Thinking of cycling - check out our FAQs
Area Activator for Wandsworth and Hounslow. All things running. For fitness, fun, racing and to feel good - and for everybody!
There's space to change and leave bags and toilets. We're not planning to do anything purposefully dangerous, but GoodGym takes no responsibility for your safety during group runs, you participate at your own risk. Participants accept full responsibility for items stored at Battersea Arts Centre, and Battersea Arts Centre and GoodGym will not be held liable for any losses or damages.
