Hi everyone and welcome to GoodGym Greenwich!
We're a friendly and social group who combine running with volunteering in the local community. We meet every Wednesday evening to get active and do a physical task for charities and community organisations across the borough and now we're starting a monthly Sunday run!
The Task
We're going to help out the Friends of Woolwich Common who meet each month to pick litter and to protect this beautiful land. They'll have plenty of bags and pickers so just bring some gloves with you. Fun fact: if you register to be an Environmental Champion at waste.advisors@royalgreenwich.gov.uk you can also get your own pickers from the council.
The Run
The run will be about 3km through Hornfair, Charlton Park and Woolwich Common. You're welcome along at any pace - we never leave anyone behind!
Where & When
We'll meet at 10.15am for a 10.30am start in Hornfair Park by the BMX track. The litter pick will end at 12pm in Woolwich Common.
You're welcome to skip the run and meet at the common - the group will gather opposite the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on the common at 11am. Just please drop a note in the comment to let me know if you're meeting us there.
What to bring
Please bring some gloves and layers, otherwise it's just yourself.
This will be a recurring task on the last Sunday of each month to keep the common in tip top condition so keep it in your diary :)
We are a group of volunteers seeking to protect, preserve and campaign for Woolwich Common, a large green space in the Royal Borough in Greenwich, London.

This is a GoodGym group run, with the option of walking too. You'll meet other GoodGymers at the start location and run or walk to the task together. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact your area activator Rachel Henry by email at rachelhenry@goodgym.org.
Area Activator at GoodGym Greenwich. I love community and getting to know all the great initiatives and people that make it what it is!
