Getting there

For this session we're going to meet at the task, so you'll need to make your own way there. We encourage you to walk, run, or cycle to do so!

    About this session

Mission Summary commit to actively walk run cycle along Thames waterways to report any pollution any time anywhere over the next three months.

Thames Water has asked for public help in monitoring and reporting pollution in local rivers and waterways. As GoodGym runners, walkers, and cyclists, we can play a vital role in protecting our environment by keeping an eye out for pollution while out on our regular activities. This is a simple observational mission—just report any pollution signs you see!

    What’s Involved?

We’re asking GoodGym members to commit to running, walking, or cycling along local rivers and watercourses on a rolling monthly basis. While doing so, if you notice signs of pollution, report them directly to Thames Water or the Environment Agency.

    How to Spot Pollution:

Look out for the following signs of water pollution: ✅ Sewage-related waste (toilet paper, condoms, sanitary products) ✅ Foamy or milky-looking water ✅ Grey or discoloured water ✅ Strong sewage smell ✅ Dead or distressed fish

    How to Report Pollution:

    📞 Call Thames Water: 0800 316 9800 (24/7 Pollution Hotline) 💻 Report Online: Thames Water Pollution Reporting 📞 Call the Environment Agency: 0800 80 70 60 (24-hour hotline)
