Join the run with Hilary (she/her) and Md Tauhidul Islam
We'll leave together to run to the task, a distance of c3km- there'll be a back marker to ensure no-one gets left behind! After the task we'll do the same journey in reverse. There is a bag drop, toilets are available, and you’ll be brought back to the start afterwards.
We encourage you to walk, run, or cycle
After a successful couple of visits to The Greenway Orchard, we shall be returning again in June to take on even more of the overgrown undergrowth in the former flower meadow area of the Orchard, so that the volunteer team there can replant the meadow ready for the summer and beyond.
They are hugely appreciative of our efforts in taming (or trying to tame...) the bramble mountain that has confronted on our last two visits, and it's likely to be more of the same, but we definitely know what to expect this time...and hopefully it will have rained between now and our next visit to make it a little easier to dig out the roots.
"Thanks to the GoodGym Newham team we are making great strides in getting that area under control. I love the expression "the Battle of the Brambles"..." - kind words from Taiwo, our host, following our most recent visit on 28/4.

Please come prepared with long sleeves and trousers (of some sort) to protect against the brambles, thorns and other jabbing/grabbing green things that will be part of this evening's entertainment - gloves and equipment will be provided.
There'll be a run option (c2m/3.2km each way) starting at Freaks and Geeks (West Ham Lane), with bag drop available at the pub, meeting at 6.30pm, and returning back there afterwards - or alternatively you can meet us at the task.
The Greenway OrchardThe Greenway Orchard was established in 2016 on a strip of land alongside the Greenway, by Newham University Hospital, and is run by a small dedicated group of volunteers who are keen to establish and maintain the small orchard of diverse trees and plants.
