GoodGym Edinburgh has a stall Edinburgh Volunteer Recruitment Fair on Tuesday and our volunteer task this week is going to be helping staff and volunteers clearing and cleaning up the venue P's and G's (St Paul's and St George's Church) after the event.
Afterwards we are going to go for a 5km run picking up litter along the way.
As we are a new group this is a great opportunity for us to get the word out there about GoodGym and support the work of Volunteer Edinburgh. Volunteer Edinburgh support volunteer organisations across the city and have been hugely helpful as we have navigated getting set up.
The Volunteer Fair finishes at 5.30 and is very very close to our normal meeting point (Edinburgh Street Food)
So a slight change - this week we will meet at St Paul's and St George's Church at 5.30. Start with our good deed and then go for a 5km run and optional workout afterwards. If you can't get there for 5.30 that is absolutely fine, just let me know what time to expect you so I can keep an eye out and get you registered.
For anyone who is an extra keen bean I have set up a Mission during the day in case anyone is available for a bit to come and help with our GoodGym stall during the event.
A bit more info about the fair:
Scotland’s largest Volunteer Recruitment Fair is delivered annually by Volunteer Edinburgh, helping hundreds of people in their search for opportunities.
Designed for organisations and anyone interested in volunteering, the fair showcases the wide range of ways that people can get involved in volunteering with organisations big and small, local and national, who serve a diverse range of communities and causes all coming together with the common aim to attract new volunteers.
If this is your first time and you have some questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch

This is a GoodGym group run, with the option of walking too. You'll meet other GoodGymers at the start location and run or walk to the task together. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact your area activator Dave Entwistle (he/him) by email at daveentwistle@goodgym.org.
Options are available to run between 0km and 5km in total.
Remember that we will be running or walking to and from the task, so you'll only be running or walking for half this distance in one go.
