I was visiting Aberfields parkrun in Nant-Y-Moel, Bridgend on Saturday 17th May, for their 83rd event. This was partly to support a run club friend who had chosen the venue to celebrate their 50th parkrun, and partly because, well, the place is beautiful.

Aberfields was holding both a Eurovision and International Nurses Day special (International Nurses Day took place on 12th May, and the 69th Eurovision event would be held later in the evening).

I was volunteering as a timekeeper, along with another volunteer who was similarly recovering from an injury (mine is pretty much healed, but the other volunteer's broken toe was much more recent).

My friend who was celebrating their 50th parkrun finished in 6th place, well done to him!
