I managed to get to Mr D's early today as my previous work appointment took less time thank I'd suspected and I was only just down the road.

Mr D was pleased to see me, although he pretended that I was too early and would have to go away and come back later. He soon changed his mind when he saw the mini baguette in my bag.

We had the usual round up of whatever's been going on over the past week, and I was pleased to hear that his boiler has finally been fixed. And then we got onto the subject of food. I was talking about airfryers and he thinks he wants one but his son has said no. I can understand that he might get confused, but I explained how nice oven chips are done in the airfryer and he started to get even more interested. BUt this conversation led to what you can and can't have on chips. Me: salt, and maybe ketchup to dip in if it's with fish, or mayonnaise if they are with a quiche and salad. Mr D: salt and vinegar and none of the other nonsense. Me: Vinegar is just sooo wrong. Mr D: what do you mean? Vinegar is essential. A basic human right for the chips.

And so it went on, all done with a twinkle in the eye and lots of laughter.

He has also asked if next time I visit I can show him how to make a cheese omelette as apparently he's had a couple of disasters. I was telling him about FoodCycle and he reckons I should know how to cook an egg.

It was a lovely afternoon and the time flew by so quickly. And before I knew it, my tea had been drubnk and it was time for me to get back to work.

Mr D says he has high eggspectations for the next visit. 😂
