This wasn’t a case of stanza-ing around - we did our fair chair of work and it was a piece of cake

We met at the Watermans Centre as 2 very content runners: Andy for having had a nice long run and also being able to get his 3, 2, 1 badge; Samia for being able to squeeze in a run and still get to GoodGym after a day at work.

We were due to lend a hand with setting up chairs for a poetry reading event and a pretty cool poetry reading evening it looked like it was set out to be. We were given a plan drawing of the desired layout, which Andy snapped a photo of and we got chair arranging and table setting up.

After our fair chair of lifting, we were trusted to prepare the refreshments table; we really could have taken the biscuit with this one. We set out cups, jars of tea bags/hot chocolate/coffee/sugar, plates and napkins, and then were allocated a cake each to cut into pieces. Possibly slightly unevenly sized, but we blame the tiny plastic knives! After getting some bonus stair climbing and lifting in by filling up the dispensers with hot water, our work was done and we headed home. This also meant that Samia got to see how trendy Watermans is - a case of having been past it so many times and now kicking herself for never venturing in...
