One runner made it to the knock out stage of the food waste World Cup by collecting unwanted food from 2 local supermarkets. This week the scores were....a convincing win for the Swedes with 5 against 1 for the Lettuces. However the golden food award has to go to the mince pies making their debut in the Community Fridge. They think it's all over, but is it?!

Exeter Community Fridge
We rescue surplus food from supermarkets across the city and give it away to all via a publicly accessible fridge in Exeter Library in order to reduce food waste.

As above. We need volunteers to pick up surplus food from designated businesses and drop it off at the Community Fridge. Quantities of food can vary but we will aim to match individual volunteers to particular pick-ups. Pick-ups are usually in the morning and the fridge is open during library opening hours. We are primarily a sustainability initiative.
