Saturday mornings lay in after the COVID Tier 1 final hurrah ? Nooot for us, thank you very much...

The ever-enthusiastic Alex greeted us with his clipboard full of tasks and divided us into 5 teams:

Ottla & Si & myself were set to work on the brute (and some brains...) task of the day by clearing and tidying up the wood pile from the corner of the playground - some efficient work to be continued next week. Charlotte Eimear Paula & Sree smashed and sawwed two old benches, crafted some more then painted the upgrades with finesse so quickly that they ended up helping with two other tasks - kudos Joel & Sian got straight to work, doing a fab job of spray painting the radiator covers that they had been working on the previous week. Nina & Rosie made a dash for the power tools (drills) to help create the decking in front of the crate that Alex is eventually going to fill with deckchairs and artwork to give the holiday vibe for Instagram-loving youths... In the absence of a third drill, Reika removed all the weeds in the surrouding area and offered a heling hand in moving some wood around. Eva & Hannah were also paired up to work on the de-decking, removing the old wood deck panels so a sponge layer could be added to stop weeds growing through the decking over the coming years - the type of novel/simple solution that you can pretty much only learn from Goodgym tasks (for me anyway...)

Lots of shout outs for this morning: Ottla for getting stuck in and designing the service of wood piling on her first session and Hannah for her first Tower Hamlets task this morning - welcome to the family! Joel, Sian, Eimear & Srta who were the last to leave as they were committed to finishing up the painting jobs they had started - a perfect example of the grit and determination we love to see at Goodgym :) The natural-born leaders Charlotte and Si for leading and taking some really great photos for today's task. Reika for the jumping for joy, photo of the day. And myself for today's pun.

Thank you for some more great work today all, pls come again soon.
