Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
This week 11 smiling runners took a break from gardening and embarked on the three mile round trip, returning to the Huddleston Centre in Clapton to spring clean their small fleet of mini busses.
So amazed by Good Gym Hackney’s boundless energy and enthusiasm last week that the team of carers there didn’t hesitate to invite us back to smarten up their three minibuses that they use to transport young members of the community to secret locations for special activities, as they were well in need of some TLC, both inside and out. A slight delay to the arrival of the essential sponges afforded a little extra time to explore some squat variations (YEAH!) but before we were able to get into round three (BOO) our spongey goodies arrived and the group cracked on with fervour.
Furious litter picking, scrubbing, polishing and rinsing.
30 mins of furious litter picking, scrubbing, polishing and rinsing brought the little busses back to former glory and the group were once again rewarded with well earned refreshments before hitting the road again. Back to base with five whole minutes to spare which were quickly put to use with some 30 second sets of front / side / front / other side planking and yogic warm down.
Next week we’ll be taking yet another break from gardening and running to the Rhythms of Life facility in Dalston where we’ll will be helping to paint a new space used to host soup kitchens and community events for rough sleepers in Hackney so don’t wear your newest, shiniest running gear.
