Wow!

If you haven't been to East End Women foodbank for a while you are in for a big surprise. We, along with the army of other regular volunteers, have made a huge difference by putting up and stacking shelves throughout the two storage rooms. Finding items and packing is so swift and today was as fun as ever.

Sara had already made a start when I arrived and was unpacking and counting huge trays of tins in the small storage area. I was put on milk duty- moving, unpacking and stacking around 100 cartons of milk. I started off by carrying the crates of milk and moved them to a trolley when I realised a) my upper body strength is not adaptable from weights to dairy products and b) I am clumsy and therefore a liability.

I moved on to packing food parcels while Sara cleared a huge area of the store room with expert unpacking.

You can finally get moo-ved in there now!

East End Women
A project supporting women with skills and training, education, loneliness and domestic abuse recovery.

East End Women offers practical courses for women to build confidence and skills around DIY, sewing, pattern cutting and basic trades. We also deliver the Freedom Programme domestic abuse recovery course, helping women to better understand the roots of domestic abuse and build confidence to identify warning signs in the future. In addition to this, East End Women also offer social activities and drop-in sessions for women experiencing isolation to meet one another, make friends and build local networks.
