Goodgymmers returned to Bath City Farm this week to help out with more shovelling! After woodchip last week, this week it was compost and well-rotted manure...

Helen, Max and Ellie tackled the compost, wheelbarrowing it to the polytunnels and potting areas. Emily, Alice and Sam moved manure from one side of the farm to the other, kept very entertained by escaping chickens and Louis, a cranky goat... It was heavy old work, but we were rewarded with beautiful views across Bath, a little bit of sunshine, and lots of tiny newborn lambs.

At the end we got to feed willow branches to some lovely goats, including one who stood on Emily's toes, and Oreo who was very keen to headbutt Max's ankles. Another brilliant day at the farm - we can't wait to go back and see what lovely things have been grown in our expertly-transported soil!!

Bath City Farm was set up by the local community in the early 1990s, when the resident farmer retired. It gained charitable status in 1995. Over the past 17 years there has been considerable progress on site, including introducing our Soay sheep, goats, chickens, ducks and pigs, a pony and most recently a flock of guinea fowl
