It was a sunny Sheffield afternoon when Celine and I met up to help Mr. G with his garden. Mr. G loves the outdoors, and has two friendly, energetic dogs, who were there to greet us (and give us a good sniff). Mr. G wanted to be able to enjoy sitting out in the garden, but he hadn't had time to tend to it as a result of his mobility issues.

Mr. G's good friend was there to give us a hand in tackling the borage, brambles, and overgrown fuscia. Once we got down to the soil, we found all sorts of bulbs, which should hopefully provide Mr. G some lovely colour in the springtime. Despite the picture, it was actually Celine who tackled the most stubborn weeds with her mighty shovel.

Mr. G and his friend were a delight to spend the afternoon with, and we hope they and the dogs can make the most of their new, more open space. And, in case anyone is wondering how to get their own fuscias as bright and blooming as Mr. G's, Mr. G's good friend assured us that the secret is horse manure. Or at least, that was the mane thing she suggested...

Ps. Thanks for the apple Celine!
