It was a lovely morning for a run to the coop to collect spare food. I picked up a bag full and headed over to the community fridge in the library. After cleaning the fridge and doing the checks, I rummaged to see what goodies would be available to the good people of Exeter... 5 little cucumbers all in a row and some mushrooms!! Let's hope there was no squabbling about who got the cucumbers and that there was an orderly queue to make use of the otherwise 'waste' food.

Exeter Community Fridge
We rescue surplus food from supermarkets across the city and give it away to all via a publicly accessible fridge in Exeter Library in order to reduce food waste.

As above. We need volunteers to pick up surplus food from designated businesses and drop it off at the Community Fridge. Quantities of food can vary but we will aim to match individual volunteers to particular pick-ups. Pick-ups are usually in the morning and the fridge is open during library opening hours. We are primarily a sustainability initiative.
