Gillian, Samantha and Philippa spent a happy hour sorting peas from beans and rice pudding from custard before embarking on some serious date checking. We made sure that A LOT of biscuits and crisps were fresh enough to go out to Foodbank clients. The prize for most out-of-date item goes to a cake with a SBD in 2004! The regular volunteers were glad to see us and grateful for our hard work. Thanks everyone!

Helping local people in crisis

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Great job done this morning - creating order out of disorder and hopefully ensuring as much food as possible is distributed before it goes out of date or becomes unusable. I would highly recommend this mission.
