We met at the picnic tables outside of Glasshouse on a superbly sunny evening for a run to help the Barnsley Litter Pickers. Shout out to Robert for his first Barnsley GG run, give him a cheer here ->Robert. It was a fairly short, but uphill, run to meet our contact from the BLP to start tonights pick at Howarth Timber.

We picked our way up Stock's Lane and then went along the gennels. There were a lack of hoops today so the good 'ol twist-a-bag-around-a-stick method was utilized to full extent! As we worked our way down the gennels we came upon a greenspace which had spots where lots of litter had been dumped, along with an old car seat which we couldn't move (the title should make more sense now... hogging the best seats... ha de ha!). Around here we got spotted by a member of the public and his son who were very impressed with our efforts. Turns out that they were from a local waste company (Twiggs) who are very keen on encouraging and aiding folk in the community to litterpick. We had a nice chat and he even gifted us a litterpicker and some more purple bags! We exchanged details and agreed to team up to do some group litterpicks in future, yay!!!

After a good networking and picking session we headed to the park for some fitness activities. Someone picked a card with an exercise written on it and we all did that exercise (10 sit-ups, 5 squats, 10 press-ups etc) and then ran a lap of the park, sprinting on the uphill and slowly running the down. We continued this until all cards had been picked and completed... so we ended up running 10 laps!

We then had a good stretch off in the park before ending the session on a high! Woop!
